Nubia came into Shea Butter as a social media manager, but found a calling in writing and journalism. They have since moved into covering NJ/NY Gotham, and any USWNT games when they are in town.
Thom (he/they) – Kansas
New to the Shea Butter family, Thom has blossomed as an independent writer and journalist. While actively covering Manchester City with our friends over at Shades of Blue Podcast, Thom has become our beat writer for Kansas City Current. Marissa (she/her) – Washington, DC
Riss, as many know her as on the internet, is newcomer to the Shea Butter team, Riss has taken on the role of beat writer, covering the Washington Spirit for the 2025 season. A new experience for her, she has excelled in the role. It’s truly a learning process, but Riss has proven herself as an excellent role model and friend to many in the stands and out devoted readers. And as the only mother on the squad, she is making waves and making memories that her daughter can be proud of.
